Goals and Objectives
- To serve as a repository for annotated data on the physicochemical properties of
nanomaterials and their biological interactions
- To organize and analyze data and compare results across research platforms
in an effort to define robust structure-activity relationships
- To identify the functional design principles of high performing,
environmentally-benign nanomaterials
- To predict potential biological impacts of unsynthesized nanomaterials
Systematic analysis of disparate data on nanomaterial-biological interactions
and computational optimization of the NBI will provide global capabilities to
identify structure and design principles of high-performance, environmentally-benign
nanomaterials that can be applied the development of future nanotechnology products.
